During the schools and college half term period (18th February-22nd February) we have launched a new project inviting applicants to engage in a shadowing experience. This involves applicants being paired with current Royal Holloway students on the courses they have applied to and attending a lecture with them.
Currently there are a number of applicants who have accepted this invitation and will be attending lectures during that week. This an extension to what is already offered through our existing shadowing programme at Royal Holloway.
The project is designed to give students a taster of the course they have applied for and is a collaboration between recruitment, widening partication and applicant services. We have chosen to target this extended programme at students from low participation nieghbourhoods to provide an additional university insight for those students least likely to have a family history of Higher Education.
Please be aware that academics delivering lectures during the week may be joined by potential students within their lectures. Those students who are engaging in this shadowing opportunity have been requested to inform the lecturer involved so if this is going to affect your lecture directly you will hear this from your student.
