Royal Holloway has been welcoming students from Malaysia for many years, and we now have around 29 students from Malaysia on our campus every year.

Malaysian students at Royal Holloway take courses at all study levels, from undergraduate, to Masters, to research and also university preparation. The subjects they study are also very varied.

The Regional Officer who covers Malaysia is Alice Carney, and she or a representative from Royal Holloway visits Malaysia once during each admissions cycle to meet with our applicants and prospective applicants interested in studying at Royal Holloway. Please have a look at our travel calendar to see when our next visit is. You can also contact her by email at We look forward to hearing from you!

The local Malaysian community

There is a strong international community at Royal Holloway and a range of clubs and societies available for Malaysian students to join, including an International Society which meets on a regular basis.

Most recently Royal Holloway International hosted an International Evening - an evening of international food and music in October to welcome all new International students.

The Student's Union organise a weekly fruit and vegetable market on campus which includes a wide selection of Asian and oriental products and ingredients, and London is very close by with a huge selection of Asian shops and markets.

For more information about all of our clubs and societies please see this link to the Student's Union website.

South East Asia Welcome Event

SEAsiaWelcome250_137On Monday the 7th of October 2013 Royal Holloway organised an event, bringing together new students from all over South East Asia. The event was hosted by Aidan O’Halloran, the Regional Officer for South East Asia, along with colleagues from the international team.

Over 30 students attended the event, giving students a chance to meet and network with other new students from their home countries. Students were able to discuss their first impressions of the campus, their accommodation, and the local area. It was also a great opportunity to find future housemates, share experiences and to make new friends.
