We offer instrumental scholarships, worth £300 a year, to undergraduate students who play an instrument, orchestral or not.
The £300 is paid as a cash award and can be renewed annually for three years.
You don't need to be reading for a degree in Music to be eligible for this scholarship.
How do I apply?
You must complete and submit an application form together with an authenticated audio recording of your performances lasting no longer than 15 minutes. This can be uploaded to the application form.
The deadline for applications is 24 February 2017.
Please note that applications are considered primarily for those who do not wish to apply for orchestral instrumentalists (I.e. non-orchestral instruments) and singers are not normally deemed eligible for this award. For orchestral instruments please refer to Orchestral scholarships.
The number of instrumental scholarships awarded will be determined by the quality of the candidates selected.
Your audio recording should be authenticated by your music or instrumental teacher.
Please bear in mind that successful applicants should have normally received a merit or distinction in ABRSM or Trinity/Guildhall Grade VIII or reached an equivalent standard in performance at least a year before their application.
To be eligible to apply you must put Royal Holloway as your firm choice and expect to start your studies in September 2017.
