Next steps for offer holders for English language preparation programmes

Student arrivingNow that you've received your offer of a place on an English language preparation programme at Royal Holloway, there are a few important steps you need to take prior to your enrolment.

This page will help you to prepare for your studies and make the transition to life on campus as smooth as possible.

The information below is for students who have received a place on the Pre-Sessional and Pre-Masters programmes.  If you've received an offer to study on the International Foundation Year please click here.

Accepting your offer and paying your fees

If you have received a place on the Pre-Masters Diploma you must pay a deposit of £1,000 before your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) is issued.  Instructions on how to pay are available here.

To secure your place on the Pre-sessional English Language Programme please pay your tuition fee in full.  Instructions on how to pay are available  here.

Deposits are non-transferrable and they are non-refundable except in the exceptional circumstances.  Please see the refund policy for clarification.

As a condition of your enrolment all students are required to abide by, and submit to the College’s Statutes, Regulations and Rules, as amended from time to time by the Council or the Academic Board. These regulations can be found in our Student Handbook.

Applying for on-campus accommodation

Information about applying for on-campus accommodation is available here. You can apply for housing once you have firmly accepted the offer for your degree programme. We encourage you to apply for student accommodation as soon as possible after the application opens, usually in April or May.

When you are offered a contract for accommodation in the university Halls of Residence you will need to accept it online. As a part of the acceptance process you will need to make a prepayment of £300. This sum will be put towards your first term’s accommodation fees. If you fail to meet the conditions of your offer, this prepayment will be refunded.

Applying for your visa

Please ensure you read the step-by-step guide for information about UK visa requirements.

Once you have read the steps above, you may be interested in finding out about the College's facilities and the support that is available to you as a student.

The dedicated International Student Support team are on hand to help students settle in to their new environment and ensure that all students are supported throughout their studies. For further information please visit the Support and Advisory Services pages for International students.

All registered College students are able to take advantage of the facilities on campus, including the Students' Union, Library and Sports Centre.  Prior to arrival we advise students to familiarise themselves with the Campus and local area.
