Description

What is it?

Disability is a subject which many individuals are fearful of; people are unsure of what they can say, how to say it, how to act, and what is and isn't appropriate in terms of behaviour and language.  This fear is heightened by the knowledge that disabled individuals are protected by the law and have certain rights which they can exercise.

Target audience

All staff

Programme objectives

To ensure that all individuals are appropriately supported, whether students or employees, Royal Holloway must ensure that all staff are confident to engage with disabled individuals, including implementing adjustments and providing the relevant support.

Programme components

This workshop is designed to build the knowledge and confidence of the delegates to feel more knowledgeable about the subject of disability, and confident to support and manage disabled individuals. It will be delivered in an interactive style and provide the delegates with plenty of opportunity to ask questions about disability in a safe environment.
