Course modules

In the first year, you take a common set of courses across the discipline, thus providing a solid basis for future study. In the second and third years, you can choose most of the courses you want to do, thus specialising in the areas of geography that interest you.

Single honours students take GG1001, GG1002, GG1003, GG1004, GG1011, GG1015 and GG1032

BSc Geography, Politics & International Relations students take GG1003, GG1004 (including GIS), GG1013, GG1034, plus courses in PIR.

Single honours students take GG2001, GG2003, plus any three option courses. You can also swap one of your Geography options for a course in another department if you wish.

BSc Geography, Politics & International Relations students take GG2002, GG2004, plus one or two options from GG2052, GG2053, GG2061, GG2071 plus courses in PIR.

**3rd Year modules are subject to change due to variations in staff availability (research leave, sabbaticals etc.)**

Single honours students take GG3001 or GG3005, plus any six option courses. You can also swap two of your Geography options for a course in another department if you wish.

BSc Geography, Politics & International Relations students take at minimum two human Geography options (GG305* - GG3080) plus courses in PIR. You may opt to do your dissertation in either the Geography Department (GG3001/5) or PIR.
