Professor Danielle Schreve of the Royal Holloway Geography Department will be lecturing on "The Thames Through Time" on Tuesday 20th September as part of the prestigious Burlington House lecture series.  This is a new joint interdisciplinary initiative organised by the Royal Academy and the five learned societies that occupy the quad (Society of Antiquaries, Linnean Society, Geological Society of London, Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry).  The aim of the lecture series is to allow the organisations to 'break down the barriers between the arts and sciences, improving cross-fertilisation and communication between the disciplines'.

Each learned society is contributing one lecture and Professor Schreve will deliver the lecture on behalf of the Geological Society of London.  The tickets have now sold out but it will be filmed and web-cast on the GSL's website.

For more details please go to the website of the Geological Society of London.
