Applications are sought for two fully-funded London NERC DTP studentships (for a September 2018 start) that will be based at Royal Holloway University of London. One studentship will be in the Department of Earth Sciences and the other will be awarded in open competition between Earth Sciences, the School of Biological Sciences and the Department of Geography. A list of projects can be consulted here. Candidates are strongly advised first to check their eligibility for NERC funding on the London NERC DTP website and to make contact with the relevant lead supervisor when preparing their application. Email contact details can be found for staff in Geography.
Applications should be made through Royal Holloway's online system, Royal Holloway Direct, by the closing date of 11am on 8th January 2018. Please state clearly the department and project for which you are applying (each project has a unique identifier) and include a supporting statement as to why you wish to study your selected project, your CV, copies of your transcripts or degree certificate(s) and details of TWO referees, including contact email addresses. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be notified before the end of January 2018 and interviews will be held at Royal Holloway in mid-February 2018.
The successful applicants will join Cohort 5 of the London NERC DTP in September 2018 and will participate alongside the rest of the cohort in selected training opportunities in their first year, including Induction Week, Skills Fridays at the Natural History Museum and the 10 day California fieldtrip. Full details of the training can be found on the London NERC DTP website.
