Beringian research by Elias and colleagues

Posted on 07/03/2014

Scott Elias was a co-author of a recent Perspectives article in the journal, Science (28 February, 2014 issue). The article concerns the author’s theory that the ancestors of the Native Americans survived the height of the last glaciation on the Bering Land Bridge: the continental shelf regions between northeast Siberia and Alaska that became dry ground when sea levels fell during ice ages. Scott was interviewed about this topic by the BBC World Service programme, ‘Science in Action.’ The interview aired Thursday evening, 6 March.

A podcast of the interview is available at
