The year abroad incorporated in a European Studies degree is your chance to apply your skills in a real work environment.
Studies show that students who have spent time abroad as part of their degree programe gain huigher status and better paid jobs.
While many of our students choose to spend their time in a top-level European university, perfetcing their langauge skills, there are a number of other options open to you.
If you are interested in a career in teaching, for instance, you can apply to work as an English language assistant in a continental school. There is also the opportunity to spend the year in employment or on an approved work placement (former students have worked for companies such as IBM in Marseilles and Ferrari at Marinello, Italy) or appy to work as an intern for an MEP or other European institution in the host country. This latter option is a popular choice for students who wish to gain work experience in politics.
