The London Victorian Studies Colloquium: A Residential Postgraduate Weekend
11th – 13th April 2014, Royal Holloway Victorian Studies Centre, University of London
The London Victorian Studies Colloquium, now in its second year, is a weekend residential colloquium at Royal Holloway for postgraduates and accompanying staff members working in Victorian Studies and this year will be held at our Victorian Studies Centre from 11-13 April. The weekend is made up of a relatively informal weekend of postgraduate papers, reading groups and a professionalisation workshop (this time on teaching experience). We will allow generous spaces also for participants to socialise and study in the beautiful surroundings of the college and there will be a viewing of the Victorian art collection in the Royal Holloway picture gallery.
Places this year are open to students from all geographical areas and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The colloquium is open to Masters and doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral students. Participants do not have to present a paper or lead a workshop but we will be looking for a small number of speakers to give short papers (20 minutes) or participate in a panel on teaching experience. Please e-mail Professor Juliet John (Juliet.Johnrhul.ac.uk) if you would like to present a paper or speak on the teaching panel. Otherwise, there you can simply register online via the link below.
The weekend is heavily subsidised, so fees are £70 for weekend residential delegates (including the cost of registration, dinner, B&B) and £52 for the non-resident weekend delegates. Please click on this link to register
The deadline for registration is 5pm Friday 14 March.
