Literature and Visual Cultures Research Seminar
Led by Dr Kristen Kreider (RHUL), ‘Object, Sign & (Punctuating) Space: An Emergence of the Indexical Symbol through Roni Horn’s Pair Object III: For Two Rooms'
Wednesday 20 March 2013, 6–8 pm (11 Bedford Square WC1B 3RF)
This new seminar series, run jointly by postgraduate researchers from RHUL and Birkbeck, will provide a regular forum in which to study and discuss the connections between literature and visual cultures.
The series will offer opportunities to debate current interdisciplinary issues and share knowledge, allowing researchers to meet others with similar interests, hear papers on new work being carried out in the field, present their own work, and participate in lively, informal discussions.
A full programme along with reading for this session can be found on the series blog.
24 April, 5–7 pm, Dr Vike Martina Plock (University of Exeter) on Virginia Woolf and fashion [NB earlier time]
23 May, 6–8 pm, Professor Maggie Humm (University of East London) on the contemporary artist Joanna Rajkowska
26 June, 6–8 pm, Dr Susan Jones (University of Oxford) on modernism and dance
