purpureus

Ali Smith was born in Inverness in 1962 and lives in Cambridge. She is the author of There but for the, Like, Hotel World, The Accidental (Whitbread Novel Award), and Girl Meets Boy. Her latest book is Artful (Hamish Hamilton, 2012); adapted from four lectures given presented at Oxford University and refusing to be tied down to either fiction or the essay form, Artful is a fantastic collection of lyrical, discursive writing and a reaffirmation of Smith’s literary powers.
