The Foundation Programme

In the English Department at Royal Holloway, we want to help you from your entry to the college to your graduation and beyond by supporting the transitions between the different stages of your academic career. Working with other parts of the college, we have in place a series of initiatives which will:

  • Assist you in making the intellectual transition to university and between years one and two and two and three;
  • Build up your study skills and academic writing;
  • Build up your confidence in seminar participation and presentations;
  • Support your personal welfare;
  • Support you in the choices you make after graduation, whether you move into the workplace or go on to further study.
At the heart of the support we offer is the Foundation Tutorial system. Your Tutor will provide academic and pastoral support and advise you on your future choices.
