I have indicated special needs on the application form. How will that effect the processing of my application?

Question:
I have indicated special needs on the application form. How will that effect the processing of my application?
Answer:

The Department's decision is based solely on academic grounds. However, if you declare special needs on the UCAS application, an evaluation of the College's and Department's ability to meet your needs must be made before a formal offer can be made. This will require you to fill in a questionnaire, which must then be assessed by people within the College and Department. This may slow down the processing of your application and increase the time before you receive official notification of your offer, but almost never affects the terms of the offer.
