Economics Students Enjoy a Summer BBQ to Celebrate End of Exams

Posted on 14/06/2013

The Department of Economics held a summer barbeque to celebrate the end of exams for all Economics students. The event took place in the South Quad of Founders on Thursday 30th May, a day after the final Economics exams took place, and before students headed off to carry out their summer plans. A large number of students attended, along with the Head of Department Michael Spagat, several academics, PhD students and support staff.

Attendees enjoyed champagne upon reception and an array of burgers, sausages and salads. Despite the unpredictable British weather causing the event to move into Crosslands, the event was a great success and gave students the chance to unwind and catch up with their peers and friends after what could be considered a testing exam period.

"The BBQ was a great opportunity to both celebrate the culmination of a very successful year and network with students from other years and the lecturers. The quality of food and drinks was great too!" Manuel Betancourt (BSc Economics Finalist)

We hope to see you all at our next departmental social!
