Monday 15th July saw Undergraduate Students of the Department of Economics graduate on a beautiful day amidst family, friends and academics. The ceremony held at the Founder’s Chapel saw 110 students from the Department gowned up to receive their first degree award in front of their guests.
The commencement of the ceremony was signified by a trumpet fanfare played the Honourable Artillery Company band, which was followed by the entrance of the Principals procession, and the Graduands’ procession. Head of the Department of Economics, Professor Michael Spagat then presented and congratulated each student with their award.
Guests were treated to the calming sounds of the Choir of Royal Holloway, who performed ‘Summertime’ and ‘Green Sleeves’. The ceremony was followed by a champagne reception in the South Quad of Founders where graduands’, guests and academic staff enjoyed canapés, champagne and an open buffet.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Graduates of 2013, all the very best for the future and would invite each and every one of them to keep in contact with the Department.
