We are delighted to announce that Royal Holloway economics just placed 7th out of 78 economics departments in the 2015 National Student Survey (NSS), achieving an overall satisfaction rate of 95%.

Professor Mike Spagat, Head of Department commented: “We pride ourselves on the quality of the experience we provide for our students and are ecstatic to see all our efforts validated by such a dramatic result.  We are one of only two departments in the country placed in the top ten for both research and student satisfaction. RHUL students really value and appreciate the way we bring cutting-edge research into the classroom.”

The NSS, now in its eleventh year, provides all final year undergraduate students in UK higher education institutions and further education colleges with the opportunity to express their opinions on what they liked during their time at university. Since the beginning of the NSS around 2.4 millions students have responded to the NSS survey from across 325 institutions across the UK.

The Deparment of Economics aims to continually improve the student experience by responding to students’ needs and concerns raised by our Student Staff Liason Committee as well as our other channels.
