Posted on 24/10/2011

Gary Nichols has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors of CASP, a research organisation with charitable status associated with the University of Cambridge. CASP has a permanent staff of 20 and carries out field-based research into sedimentary basins in Greenland, the Canadian and Russian Arctic, Siberia, the Black Sea, North Africa and parts of the Middle East. The research is funded by 20 oil companies, 6 of whom support CASP on a long-term basis. Gary takes over from Dr Peter Friend, under whom the organisation has grown substantially in the last 10 years.
