Postgraduate Taught Courses

The Department has a lively postgraduate culture with usually 30 MA students who benefit from working together on core courses and practical projects during the year. The Masters courses offer a unique combination comprising critical and theoretical core courses with a specialist practical pathway in Applied and Participatory Drama, a new course in Contemporary Performance Practices and the MA Playwriting course.

Please note the MA in Applied and Participatory Theatre will not be running in 2016-17.

PGT Courses from 2013

Drama productionFrom 2013, there will be new MA programmes in Applied and Participatory Theatre and Contemporary Performance Practices to complement the highly successful MA Playwriting. Each combines creative and critical practices, and offer intensive training in different aspects of theatre and performance.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Physical Theatre for Dancers and Actors is a Professional Development course for postgraduate experienced dancers and actors, and is taught by Jasmin Vardimon and collaborators of the Jasmin Vardimon company.

We benefit from a range of unique performance spaces which include a traditional Japanese Noh Theatre, the substantial Victorian Boilerhouse, as well as the brand new Caryl Churchill Theatre and several additional performance spaces.

You're encouraged to attend research events organised by us and to share your knowledge and skills with their fellow students.
