TV Producer Gareth Davies talks about his career after graduating from Royal Holloway

garethdaviesOn Thursday 1st December 2011, Royal Holloway alumnus and respected television producer Gareth Davies will talk to students about:

  • His time at University,
  • How he broke into TV,
  • The various jobs available in Television production,
  • What he does as a producer,
  • What makes a good TV presenter.

Gareth has produced shows from Strictly Come Dancing to Channel 4 documentaries and has helped create some of television's biggest presenters. He also runs his own TV Presenter's Training business.

Gareth's talk to Drama and Media Arts students will be partly practical, so students can have the oportunity to impress him with their presenting skills. The session starts at 1pm in the Studio Theatre in Sutherland House, and is followed by a broader discussion in the Student's Union building at 6pm.


Gareth Davies is one of the UK's most successful and respected TV Producers ­ Producing award-winning shows like Strictly Come Dancing and helping to carve the career of countless TV Presenters from Claudia Winkleman to Graham Norton .

A former music and drama graduate from Royal Holloway Gareth went on to work at the BBC for 9 years on countless TV shows before going freelance. His work has taken him around the globe and 2 years ago he set up The Presenter Studio a TV Presenter Training Company that gives people access to the industry. The business has seen presenters go on to present for all the major channels and continues to make the stars of tomorrow.

Gareth will be talking at Royal Holloway on the 1st Dec ­ giving a rare insight into how TV works, how to get yourself on screen and how to get a business off the ground.
