Prof Matthew Cohen receives Yale fellowship

Prof Matthew Cohen receives Yale fellowship
Description
Matthew Isaac Cohen, Professor of International Theatre, has been seconded by Yale on account of being the world's leading expert on Indonesian puppetry. Professor Cohen studied wayang kulit in the puppetry department of the conservatoire Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta in Indonesia, received a PhD in anthropology from Yale University, was a postdoctoral research fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies in The Netherlands and taught at the University of Glasgow before joining Royal Holloway in 2005. He is the Director of Royal Holloway's Centre for Asian Theatre and Dance.

At the BBC Audio Drama Awards held on 29 January 2017, Emile Zola: Blood, Sex & Money won the award for Best Adaptation. This epic adaptation for Radio 4 was part-written by Dan Rebellato from the Department of Drama, Theatre and Dance at Royal Holloway.
