In addition to the above, the department adheres to the College's Health and Safety policies and procedures, and the technical team highly recommend that you familiarise yourself with them, particularly those related to Fire Safety, Lone Working, First Aid and Driving.
Due to the nature of the theatre industry, our students are often required to use PPE or access equipment. The technical team are particularly vigilant in the areas of Incident Investigation, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Manual Handling and Working at Height. All staff are expected to know and exercise their responsibilities in these areas when necessary.
A plethora of Risk Assessments are written and maintained by the technical team, and staff are encouraged to seek advice from the Production Manager or Production Technician when necessary. The technical team have also published various departmental policies on Unsupervised Students in Classrooms, Room Booking responsibilities and more, all of which have accompanying risk assessments that staff are required to read.
