A not-so-distant dystopian future wherein 'players' can enact their darkest fantasy in an online virtual realm, The Nether. The play questions if you can ever really know who you are talking to online, and if virtual reality is perhaps a route to more sinister uses than simple gaming.

Set in a call centre, Alphabet tells the simple story of A meeting B. There is only one catch: A is mute and has no way to communicate. Rather than give up hope, the pair develops their own personal physical language with one another and it is through this that the audience is able to follow the ups and downs of the establishment and development of their friendship as they navigate their workplace.
