Royal Holloway PGR Faculty Challenge 2017, 8th May 2017
The Doctoral School is seeking PGR volunteers to represent their Faculties (Arts & Social Science, School of Management, Economics & Law, and Science) at this year's PGR Faculty Challenge quiz, to be held 8th May.
Last year an all-conquering team from the Faculty of Arts & Social Science routed all opposition on their way to the coveted (!) PGR Faculty Challenge trophy: can the other faculties retrieve their honour this year?
Faculty Challenge follows the format of the BBC's legendary
University Challenge. Each Faculty will be represented by a 4-strong team comprising three PGR students and an academic staff member from a department in the Faculty, answering interdisciplinary questions with Barry Langford, Associate Dean of the Doctoral School, emulating Jeremy Paxman in the questionmaster's role. (Anyone unfamiliar with
University Challenge can see Royal Holloway's most recent televised appearance here:

Last year's team members are very welcome to reapply but in the event of over-subscription preference will be given to the next generation of contestants.
To put your name forward, simply send me an email at this address as soon as possible. We very much look forward to welcoming teams and spectators from our community of research students and supervisors to another keenly-fought context for bragging rights at Doctoral School afternoon teas for the next year!
