This seminar will cover different types of Public Engagement and Science Communication, including why it is important and how to get involved. It will also include a brief session on evaluation and impact.

Who:
Karl Byrne has been distinguished in science communication and public engagement in numerous national competitions and he is the current Chair of BIG- the skills sharing network for individuals involved in STEM subjects. Previously he was the Christmas Lectures Manager at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, where he produced and managed the 2016 lectures on Energy. Other roles he has been in include Senior Programme Co-ordinator at Cheltenham Science Festival and Science and Interpretation Officer in At-Bristol Science Centre. As an official science communication trainer for the British Council, Karl has delivered trainings across the globe.
Why is he coming to RHUL?
To offer a world class training in public engagement and science communication. This is an excellent opportunity for skills development in promoting the research done in Royal Holloway!
