Sandra Walton, Faculty Administrator meets HM The Queen

Royal Visit

Staff and students from the Department of Criminology and Sociology were pleased to be included on the guest list for Her Majesty the Queen's visit to Royal Holloway, University of London on 14th March 2014.  Academic colleagues Prof David Denney and Dr Sarah Moore were accompanied by finalist students Zarek Khan and Shahina Begum in the Chapel to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee Regius Professorship of Music being presented by HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

Sandra Walton, Faculty Administror for the Department was honoured to be presented to Her Majesty in the Picture Gallery following the ceremony.  Sandra spoke with Her Majesty about the department and the degree programmes offered.  Her Majesty commented that there should be "a few more of these kind of degree programmes running".

The event was enjoyed by all who attended and the department were pleased to receive the seal of royal approval for its degree programmes.
