Masters Scholarships 2017-18

 Due to a generous benefaction, the Classics Department is delighted to invite applications for two scholarships to study in the Department at Masters level in the academic year 2017-2018.

The scholarships are for a total of c. £8200 each, to cover the equivalent of HEU fees and a contribution to living expenses. They are available to students studying on Masters programmes in Classics, Classical Art and Archaeology, Ancient History, Rhetoric, and Classical Reception.

The award will be on the basis of prior academic achievement and a 500-word submission.

Achievement will be assessed on the basis of transcripts submitted as part of the normal application process. The focus will be on preparedness for the chosen degree programme.

The submission should state

  1. Why you wish to study on this programme.
  2. What skills you have already attained that would be beneficial to your success in this programme.
  3. Why this programme will benefit your future career/studies.

The submission should be sent to sue.turnbullrhul.ac.uk and the subject line should clearly state your name and Masters Scholarship Application.

The deadline for submissions is May 1st. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible thereafter. The award is subject to students registering for the degree and to the University’s Terms and Conditions of scholarships, which will be circulated with the offer letter.

Only those in receipt of offers (conditional or unconditional) of a place on one of the Masters programmes may apply.
