Absence, illness and extenuating circumstances
Absence and illness
All absence and illness should be made known to your supervisor. If this results in you missing a taught session then in addition to notifying your supervisor your should complete the self-certification form and send this to the Faculty Administrator tracey.jeffries@royalholloway.ac.uk on or before the day the session takes place.
Extenuating circumstances
We hope that during the year you will see great results from your research project and produce a great final journal style paper. However, If you are taken ill or there are other extenuating circumstances that you believe have adversely affected your performance in relation to any aspect of your course/programme (for example, your attendance, submission of work, or performance) at any point during the academic year, you must inform the School in writing, and provide the appropriate evidence. Please read the Guidance for students for full details on how and when to inform your department about such circumstances. Please note that for School of Biological Sciences Masters students the extenuating circumstances form needs to be submitted no later than one week after the final project hand in.
