Dame Felicity Lott DBE
BA French, 1969 Royal Holloway College and Honorary Fellow
Dame Felicity Lott, affectionately known to all as Flott, is one of the best loved sopranos this country has produced. She is equally renowned for her versatility on the stages of the world's major opera houses as she is in the leading recital halls. Dame Felicity was invited to sing at the Royal Wedding in 1986 and has sung at the Proms many times, including the Last Night. She made her debut at English National Opera in 1975 and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the following year. Since then, she has established a formidable international reputation as an outstanding interpreter of Mozart and Richard Strauss. Her repertoire is mostly of French and German music and she has an immaculate command of both languages.
