A working Labour peer since 2010, Baroness Healy sits on the Lords Committee on HIV and AIDS in the UK, as does fellow graduate Lord Gardiner. Anna Healy was Special Ministerial Adviser to Harriet Harman MP, when Leader of the Commons, and to John Prescott as Deputy Prime Minister in the last Labour administration. She worked in the Cabinet Office in the early Blair administration and was then Senior Parliamentary Press Officer for the Labour Party for six years. She started working for the Labour Party in 1978 and has been an adviser to a string of the party's politicians including Tony Blair, Mo Mowlam and her husband, Jon Cruddas MP.
