As the British chief executive officer of Virgin Money Jayne-Anne Gadhia led the purchase of Northern Rock and the subsequent opening of Virgin’s own bank. She is a native of Norfolk and started her career at Norwich Union. In 1997 she became Operations Director of Virgin Direct, a joint venture between Virgin and Norwich Union. There she launched the revolutionary One Account, a joint venture with Australia's AMP and Royal Bank of Scotland. When RBS took over the One Account Jayne-Anne continued to lead if for them. She later moved to Edinburgh as Managing Director of Royal Bank of Scotland Mortgages, where she held responsibility for a mortgage book of more than £65 billion and was closely involved in its launch of First Active mortgages. Gadhia was asked by HM Treasury to lead a review into Women in Finance, which was published in March 2016
