Sophie is an equestrian who has competed in three successive Paralympic Games, winning numerous medals. In 2012 and 2016 she gained three gold medals at the paralympics. She was the only member of Team GB to win 3 Golds at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Sophie also won 2 Gold and 1 Silver medals at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing and, at the age of 16, a Bronze Medal at the 2004 Paralympics Games in Athens. She has also won Gold medals in the European and World Championships. Sophie said, “The build-up to Beijing occurred during my second year at Royal Holloway. The College was so supportive, they even arranged for me to take one of my exams early in the morning so I could get away to shoot an advert for the Paralympics with Sir Paul McCartney." She was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to para-equestrianism.
