More in this section The Bedford Society

Bedford Society Scholarships help support the most talented, ambitious students striving for success in their specialist fields and give them the opportunity to be taught by world-class academics, whilst also ensuring they leave with limited debt.

Thanks to the generosity of Bedfordians, our 2015 appeal raised over £105,000: £70,000 for the Bedford Room at 11 Bedford Square and £35,000 for the Bedford Society Scholarship Fund. Last year's appeal contributed a little over £37,000 towards Bedford Society Scholarships and owes much of its success to those of you who took part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

As result of your generosity and support, we have funded three scholarships, one for each of the faculties; the scholars having began their studies in September 2017. These will be followed by another three £7,000 postgraduate scholarships in the 2018-19 academic year.

In order to ensure we can continue to support future Bedford Scholars, today we need your help to create a lasting legacy of support for students of excellence under the Bedford Society banner. There are a number different ways you can support future scholars;

Make a single or regular donation

Alternatively, if you would like to send your donation via post, please complete a donation form and return it to us. To make a donation over the phone, please call the Alumni Relations Team on 01784 414478.

Be a part of our future by leaving a gift in your Will

Planning a gift in your Will to Royal Holloway and Bedford New College offers you the opportunity to invest in the future and to take part in the life of the College for years to come. Plus, giving in this way enables you to merge your financial planning and charitable giving aspirations.

Your gift has the potential to provide the College with the flexibility to support new projects and initiatives that will help us to continue to strengthen our standing as a top research university, enhance our students' experience, and maintain the heritage and legacy of Bedford College.

I hope that your experience of Bedford College has prompted you to consider leaving a gift to the College in your Will. To find out more about this type of gift and our promise to you, we encourage you to visit our Legacies page. Alternatively, you can contact Laura Bassani-Merron by email or on 01784 27 6538 in confidence.
