Olivia Aarons is a PhD risabel.sykes@brunel.ac.ukesearcher studying at Royal Holloway. Her research involves writing a history of Galop, the UK’s anti-abuse charity for LGBT people, and, more widely, investigating the responses and resistance of queer communities in the UK to different forms of violence. Olivia’s other research interests include digital ghosts and representations of queer women in TV and film.

Felix Clutson is a doctoral researcher at the Centre for Translation Studies at the University of Surrey exploring global and local identities in football stadia and museums. A beleaguered supporter of Reading FC, he also enjoys pub quizzes, flags, and videos of Dennis Bergkamp.

Edwin Gilson is a doctoral researcher at the University of Surrey focusing on representations of climate change in contemporary Californian fiction. Before starting his PhD he worked in journalism and communications. He is a long-suffering fan of Gillingham FC, Kent's only Football League team.

Isabel Sykes began studying for a PhD in Sociology at Brunel University London in October 2022. Her research investigates intersections of class, media, and domestic labour in the UK within the contexts of austerity, the Coronavirus pandemic, and the cost-of-living crisis. Outside of work she spends her time with an ever-expanding collection of novels and a cat called Sir Rod Stewart.

Morag Thomas is a PhD researcher based at the University of Brighton. Her research examines the motivations of White people collecting the material culture of the indigenous inhabitants of the Northwest Coast of Canada in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. From her research, she brings to the podcast an interest in museums and the art market, the history of settler colonialism, gender, and racialisation.
