Royal Holloway’s Bedford Centre for the History of Women has teamed up with Winchester’s Centre for the History of Women’s Education and the Historical Association to organise this international, interdisciplinary conference.

The conference will explore the links between education and suffrage campaigns and the roles of college women in them; and how suffrage can be taught online and in schools, higher education and heritage institutions today through presentations, workshops and exhibitions.

The Bedford Centre and Royal Holloway Archives will also launch their new digital resource, 'Royal Holloway and Bedford College Women and Suffrage', and commemorate the funeral of Royal Holloway alumna Emily Wilding Davison.

Wednesday 13 June

  • Launch and exhibition of new online 'Royal Holloway and Bedford College Women and Suffrage' archive resource.
  • Exhibition of Surrey History Centre’s The March of the Women: Surrey’s Road to the Vote
  • Eric Pumroy (Bryn Mawr, USA) and Jennifer Redmond (Maynooth, Ireland) presentation on the American Seven Sisters’ online College Women Portal
  • Bedford Society Reception and Dinner in the Picture Gallery.
