Suffrage in Bloomsbury: Writing Women in Bedford Square

11 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3RF
17/03/2018 (10:00-17:00)
Conference of the Women's Franchise League in Russel Square

This project brings together historians, writers, poets and filmmakers to create a series of works remembering the contribution of women to the social and political life of Bloomsbury and Bedford College c. 1850-1914.

Masters students from Royal Holloway’s programmes in ‘Victorian Literature, Art, and Culture’ and ‘Poetic Practice’ have been working together to find innovative ways to trace and present this often overlooked history. On 17 March, project directors, Professor Redell Olsen and Professor Ruth Livesey, along with the student researchers, will lead this one-day event, open to the public, as part of the Runnymede Literary Festival. Alumnae from Bedford College will join us to play their part in this celebration.
