Staging Suffrage

Egham high street, Founder's Square
06/02/2018 (09:00-15:00)
Actresses' Franchise League

Suffrage drama was a rich theatrical genre alive with political potential during the campaign for women’s suffrage. Now the Staging Suffrage team revive excerpts from these plays in sites that still resonate with the cause 100 years on, across Royal Holloway’s campus, and the local areas of Egham and Englefield Green, re-connecting place, memory, and politics for 21st century audiences.

9-9.50am: Join our procession from Egham High Street to Founder’s Square on Royal Holloway’s campus, led by costumed students and accompanied with banners and songs, ribbons and badges. All welcome.

11.15am-3pm: Look out for the spirits of the suffrage manifesting around campus.
