Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs this week won the Enterprise Event of the Year Award by the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE).
Designed to recognise a single event that raised awareness of entrepreneurship to an audience beyond society members, the award was given to Royal Holloway for the Night Market. The annual event which was held in January, attracted over 300 visitors who purchased unique products from student businesses while enjoying a wide range of entertainment by other student societies.
Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs was also the only society nationally to be shortlisted for a total of four awards: University Society of the year Award, Venture Creation Award, Founders Award for President of the Year and Enterprise event of the year.
Marianne Hughes, President of Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs said: “This award recognises the society’s fantastic achievements in supporting student businesses in new and innovate ways.
“We are committed to ensuring that the entrepreneurial spirit of Royal Holloway continues to thrive and grow.”
Richard Kuti, Head of NACUE said: “Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs has shown the ability to design and deliver an amazingly diverse programme of activity for their members. They’ve contributed to the personal development of many students along the way and are a fantastic example of this new generation of entrepreneurial students. This Award recognises that achievement and the impact they’ve had in this academic year.”
