Students get a chance to sharpen exam skills

Posted on 22/03/2011

As part of Royal Holloway’s ongoing development of study skills support, a newly released ‘exam skills’ module is being launched on the College website this week.

The free module for Palgrave Macmillan’s online platform skills4studycampus will be trialled from Friday (25 March) until 10 May and students will be able to learn how to prepare effectively for exams, get techniques for memorising information and understand the use of critical analysis when answering questions.

Dr Simon Parkes, Learning Development Officer at Royal Holloway, says: “The module is designed to help students to understand the way that they approach exams, in order to assist them in achieving consistent results. The unit is interactive, easy to navigate, and contains practice activities to guide students through their exam preparation.

"I would urge all Royal Holloway undergraduates to take advantage of this new resource, in addition to the existing exam preparation materials available on the College website and the subject-specific support offered by individual departments."
