Young and enterprising students from Royal Holloway, University of London will hold a Night Market on Egham High Street on Tuesday 28 January to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The event, which will take place between 4pm and 8pm, is set to include the local community in the Chinese New Year celebrations, with student businesses selling handmade goods and crafts in honour of the occasion.
Live entertainment on the night will be provided by student societies including the Royal Holloway choir, Absolute Harmony, and the Royal Holloway Dance Society.
There will also be a host of games and activities, including ‘Hook a Duck’, for visitors to enjoy, and several local restaurants will be on hand to serve authentic oriental cuisine.
Jack Smale, Development Co-ordinator at the Students’ Union, said: “Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs is an exciting and hugely popular student-led society that supports and grows the enterprising students of the University. The Entrepreneurs Society hopes that this night will bring something new and different to Egham, and in a small way, boost the local economy.”
Entry to the Night Market is free.
