Join us for a day of sporting celebrations on Sunday 18 March, 11am - 4pm, to mark Royal Holloway’s role as an official Olympic Village. There will be something for everyone and entry and ALL activities are FREE.
Programme of events:
Car Park 12
A £3 Charity car wash from 12noon - 3pm
Try out our ‘crazy’ bikes which include a miniature Penny Farthing, uni-cycles, balance bikes, carts and bikes that have back to front steering in the Crazy Cycle Circus from 11am - 4pm.
Tug of War – Penalty Shoot Out – Sack Race (Time Trial) – Three-Legged Race from 12noon - 2pm
Touch Rugby / Football Fives from 2 -3pm
American ‘Flag’ Football / Volleyball from 3 - 4pm
Go head-to-head, or belly-to-belly, with our inflatable sumo wrestling or test your speed and strength on the inflatable bungee run from 11am - 4pm
Try out our smoothie bike and use pedal power to operate the special blender and create your own delicious drink from 11am - 4pm
Challenge your friends and family to a game of Giant Jenga and Connect Four
All ages can jump onto our bouncy castle: (Please note it will be only be manned between 12noon - 2pm. Outside these times parents must take full responsibility for their children’s safety)
Browse our sustainability stall and find out how you can help make a difference to the environment. From 11am - 4pm
Visit our Bike Doctor who will be on hand to offer maintenance advice and give your bike a service from 11am - 4pm
Enjoy demonstrations by our community radio station, Insanity Radio, where you will be able to create your own jingle from 11am - 4pm
Youngsters will be able to get creative and contribute Olympic themed designs and drawings on our special bunting which will be displayed around the College ahead of the 2012 Games and at our community Garden Party in June. They will also get the chance to decorate a fairy cake for their mums to celebrate Mother’s Day from 11:30am - 3:30pm
Hear talks from Paralympic dressage champion and 2012 hopeful Sophie Christiansen MBE at 1pm and then again at 2:30pm and Olympic Rowing Village Manager and Olympic medallist Miriam Luke at 1:30pm and again at 3pm.
