Insanity Radio, Royal Holloway, University of London’s student-run radio station has officially switched over to broadcasting on 103.2 FM.
The change will move Insanity Radio into the world of Community FM radio, increasing its responsibility and commitment to serving the needs of the wider community beyond the Royal Holloway campus. This includes fulfilling a promise to provide more opportunities for the wider community to get involved with the running of the station through training workshops, presenting opportunities, show production, marketing, website development, music reviewing, technical training and assisting with music scheduling.
Insanity has been working on a brand new website to make the listening and contribution process more straightforward and to attract new listeners to its range of shows. As a Community FM station, Insanity aims to extend its listenership as far across the surrounding area as possible and to actively engage young people from further afield than Royal Holloway.
Station Manager Dave Lamb said: “Insanity's move onto FM is a landmark change, not only for everyone involved this year, but for the hundreds of students who have given their time to Insanity over many years. We can't wait to offer the same opportunities and quality programming that Insanity has given Royal Holloway to the community around us.
"We will also continue to broadcast on 1287 AM and online, and we hope that as many people as possible will want to join us in celebrating.”
