Welcome to Art Collections and the Picture Gallery

The University art collections are cared for by our Culture Team, who also manage the archives and the exhibitions programme.

Our stunning Grade 1 listed Picture Gallery houses the Thomas Holloway collection of Victorian paintings, and we hold temporary exhibitions in a dedicated space in the Davison Building. The University's art collection includes world-class paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and watercolours including works by William Powell Frith, John Everett Millais and Edward Burne-Jones. Recent additions to the collection include works by Augustus John and Graham Sutherland.

Visit us in person or at our Digital Museum to discover our unique collections.
