Why was Royal Holloway chosen as the location for the Rowing and Canoe Sprint Village?

Question:
Why was Royal Holloway chosen as the location for the Rowing and Canoe Sprint Village?
Answer:

The Royal Holloway campus was chosen as the location for the Rowing and Canoe Sprint Village because of its proximity to the facilities at Eton Dorney, providing easy daily access for both training and competition.

By using existing accommodation at Royal Holloway, London 2012 has avoided the need to build additional accommodation and facilities – which is at the heart of the sustainability principles of the Games.
