Alumni compete in University Challenge Christmas special

Royal Holloway and Bedford New College alumni took on the University of Sussex in the special Christmas series of University Challenge for distinguished alumni on Friday 27 December 2019.

Fighting it out for a place in the semi-finals, the university was represented by:

  • Fern Riddell (BA History, 2008), TV historian
  • Emma Bridgewater (BA English, 1983 - Bedford College), ceramics designer
  • Lucy Hughes-Hallet (BA English, 1973 - Bedford College), author and biographer
  • Professor Jackie Hunter CBE (BSc Physiology & Psychology, 1977 - Bedford College), CEO of BenevolentBio

The University of Sussex team featured BBC Parliamentary correspondent, Mark D'Arcy, and sci fi writer and critic, Kim Newman.
