Following a call out from Surrey County Council appealing for volunteers to help supply items for Surrey’s frontline works, Nicola offered her design skills and produced a pair of scrubs for Surrey’s local heroes.

Nicola said: “Since we’ve been on lockdown, I was asked by two local friends, a GP and a surgeon, to make non-surgical grade masks. They sent me patterns and studies into the filter capabilities of different, mainly domestic, materials and we came up with the patterns and materials we thought were best. I will definitely be making more of these for family and friends who are volunteering as shoppers and delivery drivers for vulnerable isolating members of the public.”

“Another friend contacted me about ‘Scrubs Glorious Scrubs’, a volunteer collective in Ascot, who are working across the UK to produce scrubs for different NHS Trusts. Since offering my services, I’ve been asked to make scrubs for the NHS Frimley Trust. ”

Surrey County Council is now appealing to businesses for vital personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies to help front line workers delivering essential services to Surrey residents during Covid-19.
